Title:

"The Open School of Tomorrow"

Abstract:

EDEN has established the Open Classroom initiative and a Working Group of experts in the field, in order to facilitate the spiral movement towards the openness of the school education systems, in Europe and the world.

The Open Classroom Working Group is organising a schools oriented Session for the Open School of Tomorrow, addressing the transferring of ideas, paradigms and practices from the traditional areas of ODL applications to the school sector, with the ultimate scope to consider ways of developing the concept and the use of learning resources, be it content, materials, institutions, individual experts, museums, libraries, etc., in this sort of complicated, and yet pragmatic, network, which is in fact being built in our Information Society of the near future.

During the Session a number of interesting cases from all over the world will be presented, thus contributing to the development of good practice for the effective use of ICTs and the application of ODL methodologies in school communities.
