This international project has the goal to evaluate possibilities to use parts of multimedia productions as well in other cultural contexts as in a different language.All over the world one can hear that projects tend to re-invent the wheel. This strategy in the didactic production of multimedia modules has its historical roots in copyright procedures - it is, until now, impossible without enormous amount of administrative work, to get hold of material for further use especially when it is not the same or analogous didactical context ( otherwise we know of some "adapted courses, translated courses" etc.).
But why not try to overcome this especially financial gap for developing countries in collecting bits of didactic material drawn from courses which have been evaluated and where developers easily would agree to recycle their material for a similar use by simply agreeing on "quotation"?
The plan is to build up a database in digital format, small parts of didactical development - single trick-camera shots, small video-clips, etc. , group these items by subjects and document them by author, copyright holder, length, subject, sphere, source, etc. to ease didactical "recycling" - it can be proven that many courses are out of use, out of print, out of interest and that in these courses we can find material which could be used again in new didactical contexts. In a partnership with the Centre for Didactic Technology, Hanoi, especially its director, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Kim we will try to find funding for this endeavour. Any help will be welcome!
