Introduction

Volume 4 of the VOCTADE interim deliverables is in four parts. It is called the 'Transferability of distance Training qualifications' and studies that transportability and transparency of further and higher qualifications at a distance across Europe.

The four parts are:

Part 1 presents the interim legal analysis of the transferability across the European Union of vocational education and training qualifications at a distance. A national summary follows for each of the 16 national systems provided.

Part 2 extends tha analysis to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. Casse studies of 17 national systems are provided.

Part 3 deals with an empirical study carried out on the transferability of educational and vocational certification in a member state of the European Union.

Part 4 is the Voctade database and explains its relationship to the other distance education databases in the European Union. It includes the diskettes containing the database version 0.4 and instructions for accessing the database.
