There are many possibilities to follow a kind of a curriculum to become an expert in Distance Education. Most specialists in DE come from other academic fields. Most international consortia of DE institutions discuss joint ventures in offering a course to become a professional in DE- if you follow all links from this site to a depth of 7 layers, I bet you will be a better expert in DE than most. You also can enrol in DE courses for DE development at differnt price levels and with different institutions: then you will even get a diploma or some certificate. Just so with the course "Essentials in Distance Education", authored by B.Holmberg - one could enrol as a guest student with the FernUniversität, now this offer does not exist any more.The VIDE group is disussing the construction of a course and we are still working on that decision!
