Dissertation projects are typically pursued by group members holding a position as a teaching and research associate. These projects are embedded in broader topic areas including:

• component-based and distributed software engineering
• service-oriented computing
• program analysis
• e-learning technology

We are not providing a list of research topics to choose from but expect candidates to develop their research topic in close cooperation with Prof. Krämer or Prof. Krinke.
Dissertation projects of external researchers are possible provided that they satisfy the formal requirements of the faculty’s dissertation rules and Prof. Krämer or Prof. Krinke are willing to supervise the project.

To be able to reach a decision on the latter condition, we ask for a 10 page exposé describing and motivating the research question to be addressed, sketching the state-of-the-art in this field of research, identifying deficits and briefly explaining the intended research approach and preliminary work of the candidate.
