Greetings from Hagen, Germany! Welcome to the Enterprise Modelling Research Group at the University of Hagen!

Enterprise models empower us to shape the digital transformation of society and industry. Without conceptual models of enterprises and their information systems, we cannot understand complex software and cannot seize the opportunities of its application to problems of modern society. At the Enterprise Modelling Research Group, we construct enterprise models, design modeling languages, develop modeling methods and modeling software tools and investigate and evaluate their application to business domains such as Strategic Management, Performance Management, Risk Management, Accounting and Auditing. Our research and teaching foci include Enterprise Architecture Management, Business Process Management, Enterprise, Business and Conceptual Modeling.

Within these research foci, we presently focus on the following fields of research:

  • Design, Development, Application and Evaluation of Modeling Tools
  • Barriers and Difficulties of Learning Conceptual Modeling and Development of Directed Tool Support for Learners
  • Development and Evaluation of Domain-Specific Modeling Languages and Modeling Methods for Business Domains and the Digital Transformation

Note that we are currently in the process of setting up this website informing about our research, teaching and our activities in the scientific community. Please accept our apologies if something is still missing. We hope you can find information you are looking for at the German site.
