With the increasing use of computers, the local division and networking of IT-processes in practice the requirements for system structures for converting, storage and transfer of information are increasing and are about to gain importance. The internet as today's most important communication network permeates all scopes of life with its services and applications (e.g. fax, VoIP, video on demand). At the same time miscellaneous communication technologies and information channels (wired, mobile radio, WLAN) fuse to make the available information and services context- and locationdependent and available to various users. It has become imperative, to study the stability and optimality of such complex systems and develop new methodologics that can meet the various demands, especially system security! The exploratory focus is dedicated to this topic. Especially, novel decentralized and distributed methods are needed which enable the communication system through self-organisation and adaption to adjust for the changing needs of the user. Accordingly network-structures, protocols and cooperative applications must be developed, modelled and transfered to the industry under inset of various simulative and mathematical actions by different criteria (e.g. performance, delay, safety).
