| Sociological diagnoses of the present
analyse today’s society and focus their attention
especially on what is problematic in current developments,
in order that they can reveal tomorrow’s tendencies.
In this course, 19 of such diagnoses of the present, which
were all developed in the course of the twenties in Germany,
France, Great Britain and the USA, are each individually
introduced with an eye to their central assertions. With
regard to what is considered a potential danger of contemporary
dynamics, different accents are placed, so that the present
always appears in a different light: e.g. „risk
society,“ „experience society,“ „McDonaldised
society,“ or even as „asymmetrical society.“ |
