The theories of societal differentiation
belong to the essential core of sociological theory. The
course is a four step introduction to these theories:
from the classics of sociology, with their ideas of differentiation
theory, to Talcott Parsons’ and Niklas Luhmann’s
concepts to newer agent-based theories on social differentiation.
