If you are planning to study Module 26103/Module 3 “Entwicklung und Evaluation von digitalen Medien“ of M.A. Bildung und Medien: eEducation in the summer semester of 2021, there is some good news for you. The international cooperation project „Instructional Design: Creating an interactive digital product for education“, which collected great reviews in the last two runs, is happy to welcome you! You will work collaboratively with students from Open Universiteit, the Netherlands (OUNL) and University of Jyväskylä, Finland (JYU), supported by an international team of instructors. Within the course you will not only create your own media product for education and present it, but also evaluate the projects of other teams.

Workflow

Having applied for the international cooperation project, you start working in the Moodle environment of Module 26103/Module 3 (the beginning of summer semester is 1.04.2021). From the 12th of April you switch to open Moodle platform where you will continue your course in English (see the section „Open Moodle“ below). Apart from the tasks of Module 26103/Module 3 you will get some language and communication support, if needed, and will be able to practise speaking skills with other students. From May 3rd 2021 to June 18th 2021, students from OUNL and JYU will join you for the collaboration phase (7 weeks). Overall, the open Moodle learning environment you will be working in is operated by the FernUniversität in Hagen and is only accessible to registered participants. In the follow-up phase you will reflect on the collaboration process and prepare to write your course paper. If you choose to deliver the paper for Module 26103/Module 3 in English, you will get some support in academic writing. After July 11th you get back to the regular FernUni Moodle environment of Module 26103/Module 3.

For information on content, learning outcomes/competences, the form of examination and further information please refer to the study portal page of Module 26103/Module 3: Entwicklung und Evaluation von digitalen Medien.

Open Moodle

To get a first impression of the content in advance, you can explore the open Moodle learning environment from 01.04.2021. You can get access to it in the regular Moodle learning environment of Module 26103/Module 3, but only if you are planning to complete Module 26103/Module 3 in the summer semester of 2021.

Test Performance

For the successful completion of Module 26103/Module 3 you will work on the following three learning tasks within the international cooperation project:

Task 1: Creating an educational concept for the international media project

Task 2: Presentation of a systematic evaluation, derived from the international media project

Task 3: Course paper

The course paper is written thematically to the international media project and cannot be written on any other topic. The title of the paper is „Instructional Design: Creating an interactive digital product for education“. The course paper is written individually and is therefore not part of the group work. In the Moodle learning environment of Module 26103/Module 3 all contents and criteria of the course paper are presented (please do read the ‘Semester-Infos’ of Module 26103/Module 3). These differ for the international cooperation project with regard to the evaluation, as this will only take place in a shortened form.

Additional Skills

With your active and successful participation in the international cooperation project you will receive both a Diploma Supplement and an official certificate of participation, which emphasises your international cooperation and can be used for applications, for example.

Registration

If you would like to take part in the international cooperation project, please make a binding registration by 10.04.2021. To do that, please e-mail kateryna.holubinka@fernuni-hagen.de stating your name, matriculation number (Matrikelnummer) and e-mail address. With your registration you decide to write the term paper in Module 26103/Module 3 thematically on the international media project entitled „Instructional Design – Creating an Educational Media Product“.
