Prof. Winkler spoke to Danish rectors about New Learning

[28.09.2021]

Prof. Winkler spoke to a group of rectors and coordinators from the Danish Universities of Applied Sciences (Erhvervsakademier) about the transformation of higher education and New Learning. The talk was invited by the Regional Center Hamburg on the occasion of the visit of the Danish delegation. The Danish higher education institutions are currently looking into ways for regionalizing their study programs.

Prof. Winkler noted that, although there are obvious differences in organizational structures, funding models and university culture between the higher education systems in Germany and Denmark, a number of good practices can be learned from each other. He also referred to the Hagen Manifesto on New Learning and the strategic initiative of the FernUniversität to take sustainable account of the digital change in higher education by rethinking what learning is.

Prof. Winkler is a lecturer at the Copenhagen Business School and has worked in the Danish higher education system before starting at FernUniversität.
