German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Center for Lifelong Learning (DIE)
FernUniversität in Hagen and the German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning (DIE) are striving for close cooperation through joint professorships and signed a framework agreement for this in July 2018.
The cooperation focuses on identifying joint research issues between the Leibniz Institute's main areas of work and FernUniversität's research foci, in particular the Research Cluster "Digitalization, Diversity and Lifelong Learning - Consequences for Higher Education (D²L²)".
The first joint professorship at the Faculty of Psychology has been established in the field of "Adult Cognition and Learning with Digital Media". We are pleased that PD Dr. Hannes Schröter, at the same time deputy head of the Department of Teaching, Learning, Counselling of the DIE, has accepted the call and will start on 01.04.2021 with close connection to D²L².
The establishment of another joint professorship is currently being discussed with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
