In the Research Cluster D²L² (Digitalization, Diversity and Lifelong Learning - Consequences for Higher Education) FernUniversität in Hagen and the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG) in Berlin cooperate as from 1 April 2020 in the research project Organizational Adaptivity in the German Higher Education Context (OrA).

Researchers from both institutions cooperatively investigate the question of how teaching and learning innovations can be successfully adapted at universities.

The HIIG researches the development of the internet from a societal perspective. The aim is to better understand the digitalization of all spheres of life. As the first institute in Germany with a focus on internet and society, HIIG has established an understanding that emphasizes the embeddedness of digital innovations in societal processes.
