Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (HU)
Within the framework of the D²L² research cluster, the FernUniversität in Hagen and Humboldt Universität zu Berlin (HU) cooperatively investigate applications of learning analytics in higher education. In the Learning Analytics for Diversity-Inspired Adaptive Learning (LA DIVA) project, researchers from both institutions work together to investigate the potential of learning analytics for supporting adaptive learning in higher education with a particular focus on the diversity of the learners.
On the FernUniversität’s side, the project is led by Prof. Dr. Jörg Haake, Chair of Cooperative Systems and member of the D²L² Executive Board. On Humboldt Universität’s side, the project is led by Prof. Dr. Niels Pinkwart, who heads the research group Computer Science Education / Computer Science and Society at HU, is scientific director of the Educational Technology Lab at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) and is currently a visiting professor at the D²L² research cluster. Prof. Pinkwart is also connected to the D²L² research cluster via the FernUni’s AI.EDU Research Lab cooperation project with the DFKI.
