Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg M. Haake
Prof. Dr. Jörg Haake -Chair of Cooperative Systems
For many years, Prof. Haake has conducted research on adaptive support for collaborative work and learning in virtual organizations, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), and the EU. At the FernUniversität in Hagen he has managed large interdisciplinary projects including PATONGO, which supports the communication of social practice knowledge within a community of practice in the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), and CURE, a cooperative learning platform to support self-organized collaborative learning.
Prof. Haake’s research related to the research cluster includes the design and implementation of structured collaborative learning arrangements (e.g., group assignments supported by formal and informal scripted collaboration) as well as the design and implementation of adaptive semi-structured collaborative learning arrangements (e.g., support for self-organized learning groups in CURE, or use of the project method in lab courses in computer science). In addition, his research on context-adaptive collaboration environments and experience with supporting successful communication of social practice knowledge within a community of practice is relevant to the research cluster.
Prof. Haake is a member of the cluster’s executive board.
