Einladung zum Vortrag (Zoom) von Herrn Prof. Dr. Iosif Polterovich am 18.11.2020 - 16:00 Uhr im Rahmen des Forschungsseminars Analysis

[18.11.2020]

im Rahmen des Forschungsseminars Analysis hält am Mittwoch, den 18. November 2020, um 16:00 Uhr,

Herr Prof. Dr. Iosif Polterovich (University of Montreal, Canada)

einen Vortrag zum Thema

Steklov eigenvalues, sloping beaches and quantum graphs.

Abstract: The Steklov eigenvalue problem has recently become one of the central topics in spectral geometry. I will overview some latest advances in the subject, with an emphasis on spectral asymptotics for domains with corners.

This problem is closely linked to some old questions in hydrodynamics, as well as to the study of quantum graphs. Applications to the inverse spectral problem will also be discussed.

The talk is based on the results obtained in collaboration with Michael Levitin, Leonid Parnovski. David Sher, and Stanislav Krymski.

Der Vortrag findet im Rahmen eines Zoom-Meetings statt. Bei Interesse an den Zugangsdaten bitte bei Herrn PD Dr. habil. Joachim Kerner (joachim.kerner@fernuni-hagen.de) melden.
