Welcome to the website of the Chair of Community Psychology!
Community Psychology deals with the experiences and behaviours of individuals within their geographical and socially defined contexts – their communities. As an applied discipline employing empirical methods, the central objective is to apply the gathered findings and knowledge to contribute to optimising how people live together in their communities. As an explicitly interdisciplinary field, Community Psychology enjoys close relations with various other (psychological) disciplines. In a multi-level approach the analysis of individual attitudes and behaviour is complemented by the consideration of social, organisational and political aspects.
