Presentation of Bioenergy Policy at the conference „Second International Forest Policy Meeting" in Wageningen (Netherlands)

From 11 to 13 April 2018, the social science research group “Forest and Nature Conservation Policy Group” at the University of Wageninge (Netherlands) hosted the conference “Second International Forest Policy Meeting” in collaboration with the networks Nordic Network of Forest Policy Science and Forstpolitiktreffen. The research group is specialized on forest policy research and placed the event’s focus on forest policy against the background of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In a panel session on bioeconomy, Katrin Beer from the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg (responsible for the thematic field bioenergy in the project Bio-Ecopoly) hold a presentation about „Political processes of bioeconomy between economy and ecology: The role of wood as resource for bioenergy production in the bioeconomy“. She discussed the role of forestry in the bioenergy sector in Germany with an international audience.
