Prof. Dr. Matthias Thimm, Dr. Isabelle Kuhlmann, and Lydia Blümel received the 2025 Teaching Award at the DIES ACADEMICUS for their innovative teaching concepts and active student support

This year’s DIES ACADEMICUS at FernUniversität was marked by institutional change, the introduction of the new Rectorate, and numerous honors.

A highlight of the DIES ACADEMICUS was the presentation of numerous awards for academic achievements and exceptional dedication. The award recipients were honored in a small, intimate setting at Villa Bechem, the birthplace of FernUniversität. Rector Stürmer emphasized: “You all make an indispensable contribution to our university and make it a place of vibrant knowledge.”

In this context, Prof. Dr. Matthias Thimm, Dr. Isabelle Kuhlmann, and Lydia Blümel received the Teaching Award for the master’s module “Machine Learning.”
