Guest lecture by Dr. Annika Baumann on the Privacy Paradox

[01.08.2022]

Why do so many people disclose highly sensitive data on the Internet while, when asked, saying they don't want to?

For years, researchers have been trying to bring clarity to this contradictory phenomenon. One of them is Dr. Annika Baumann from Weizenbaum Institute and University of Potsdam, who gave us exciting insights into her latest research project during our last brownbag session.

Together with her colleagues, Annika is trying to expand and reconceptualize the frequently discussed privacy paradox and develop a new theoretical model based on it. With the help of the insights gained, the team is also designing and evaluating a privacy training program with the aim of using it in practice in the future to train people in privacy-conscious behavior.

A big thank you to Annika Baumann for the insights you shared with us!
