Invitation to the virtual fireside chat: "Sustainable supply chains - IT as the key to carbon accounting" with Vera Schneemann and Florian Sommer from Capgemini Invent

[13.02.2023]

We cordially invite all students to participate in our virtual fireside chat: "Sustainable Supply Chains - IT as a Key for Carbon Accounting" with Schneemann and Sommer from Capgemini Invent on 27.02.2023 at 19:30.

More and more companies are dealing with the recording of emissions data, up to 90% accrue in manufacturing companies in the supply chain. This poses challenges for large corporations as well as many small and medium-sized enterprises. Digital technologies and IT have a key role to play in establishing CO2 reporting in the long term and enabling sustainable management of emissions.

Vera Schneemann and Florian Sommer, both experts at Capgemini Invent and known from the Capgemini #Klimatalk, will inform us about the importance of good data governance for carbon accounting in the creation of sustainable supply chains, bringing some case studies from their daily consulting practice. In the subsequent Q&A session, moderated by FernUni professors Karsten Kieckhäfer (Chair of Production and Logistics) and Till Winkler (Chair of Information Management), some aspects will be discussed in more detail. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

The webinar is aimed in particular at students of the FernUniversität studying Business Administration, Business Informatics, Environmental Sciences (infernum) and anyone else who is interested.
