The B*IMA Chair to present several papers at the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2026 in Milan
[17.06.2026]The B*IMA Chair was represented at the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) 2026 at Bocconi University in Milan with several presentations. The PhD students Jonas Fränzl, Andreas Wunder, Tobias Golz and Siju Samuelkutty were in attendance.
Jonas Fränzl and Andreas Wunder presented their research paper, co-authored with Prof. Au and Prof. Till J. Winkler, on the design of complementary performance in human-AI collaboration in the field of strategic intelligence, in the track ‘“There is No Way Back”: GenAI and the Transformation of the Workplace’. Based on a case study involving several field experiments and interviews, the study develops a model of key factors that foster complementary performance between humans and generative AI in strategic analysis work.
The study by our Bachelor’s student Philipp Andrzejak on design requirements for intelligent tutoring systems in a higher education context was presented by co-author Prof. Winkler in the track “Competences and Competence Management in an Augmented Digital World”. Based on a wide-ranging survey of students, the study identifies key requirements for intelligent tutoring systems, with subject-matter accuracy, pedagogically sound guidance and interactive question-and-answer functions considered indispensable.
As part of the pre-conference programme, Prof. Dr Winkler also organised the first Digital Health Networking Meeting in collaboration with the co-chairs of the Digital Health Section of the German Informatics Society (GI). Seven teams from across Europe took the opportunity to present and discuss their research. The workshop provided a valuable platform for networking and establishing new research collaborations.
