Björn Binzer and Daria Faber successfully complete their doctorates
[13.08.2025]The B*IMA Chair is pleased to announce the successful doctorates of Dr Daria Faber and Dr Björn Binzer.
Daria Faber defended her dissertation ‘Adapting Modern Service Organisations Through Service Management Capabilities’, in which she developed the first uniform definition of Enterprise Service Management (ESM). With the OATIP model she validated, companies can systematically build the necessary resources for successful ESM implementation. Her work has been published in Electronic Markets and other leading journals.
In his dissertation, ‘Enabling Citizen Development Through Low-Code/No-Code: From Strategy to Implementation,’ Björn Binzer examined the democratisation of software development. In eight essays - including publications in Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE) and MIS Quarterly Executive (MISQE) - he analysed how companies can strategically plan and implement citizen development. His research was also awarded a Best Paper Award at HICSS.
We would like to thank committee members Prof. Dr. Julia Krönung and Prof. Dr. Stefan Smolnik for their valuable feedback during the evaluation process, as well as all colleagues and companions who supported both doctoral candidates.
We warmly congratulate Dr. Daria Faber and Dr. Björn Binzer on their outstanding scientific achievements and wish them all the best for their future academic and professional careers.
