Successful completion of the two seminars "Digitisation in the Health Sector 1+2"

[31.07.2023]

This semester, two parallel seminars at the B*IMA Chair revolved around current topics on the digitalisation of the German healthcare system. Under the organisation and supervision of Carolin Gellner, Jennifer Kendziorra, Prof. Till Winkler and Anne-Katrin Witte, 14 students each dealt with the prescription of Digital Health Applications (DiGAs) and the acceptance of the Electronic Patient Record (ePA).

In the past four months, the participants not only learned about the current state of practice and research, but also conducted their own interviews with doctors, patients and elderly people and their relatives. After an intensive phase of virtual collaboration, all students gathered last week for a joint final meeting on the campus of the Fernuni in Hagen, where they presented their results to each other. Despite different perspectives and insights, the general conclusion was quite clear: even though the foundations for a digitalised health system have been laid, the way forward should be accompanied by better communication and more education in order to remove the existing obstacles and gain momentum.

A big thank you goes to all students and interview participants who brought the seminar to a successful conclusion.
