Fabian Walke is a doctoral researcher at the chair of Business Administration and Economics, especially Information Management at the FernUniversität in Hagen.

He studied sports science with focus on computer science at the Technical University Darmstadt and Police Service Law Enforcement at the HfPV Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences. As a student assistant he worked at the chair of psychology and economics of sports at the TU-Darmstadt in the field of statistics, research methodology and experimental planning, for the project “Training and competition quality from the perspective of athletes and coaches” (Quatras) of the Federal Institute of Sport Science and for the University Augsburg as a competition analyst for the beach volleyball national team Brink/Reckermann (Gold Olympic Games 2012).

He was an EXIST scholarship holder from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and winner of the ICT Innovative Start-Up Competition 2/2012. He worked as a CEO of an IT company, IT project manager and as a state official of the Hessian police, among others for the project “Secure Data Hessen”.

Fabian Walke researches and teaches at the FernUniversität in Hagen in the field of digitalization and information management, with a focus on the digital transformation of the public sector (e-government, digital infrastructure, eID, service quality, success, performance and quality measurements), artificial intelligence (AI Act, explainability, high-risk sectors, ChatGPT) and on the nature of information and data (learning from data, dealing with misinformation and disinformation and translational effects between signals, data, information and knowledge). He supervises the module "Information Management" and is involved in the redevelopment of this module as well as the new development of the module "Digital Entrepreneurship".

He is also a project staff at the Research Institute Work - Education - Digitalization (ABD) of the FernUniversität in Hagen, lecturer for techniques of scientific work at the Hessian University of Applied Sciences for Public Management and Security in Wiesbaden and for basics of scientific work at the University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration NRW in Cologne. He is also working as a Visiting Researcher at ESADE Business and Law School in Barcelona, Spain, under the supervision of Prof. Jonathan Wareham, PhD.
