Meliz-Sema Kaygusuz successfully completed her training as an office management assistant at the FernUniversität in Hagen from 2014 to 2017, graduating with honors as the top student in her class. She then worked in the Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure Law department at the Faculty of Law from 2016 to 2022. At the same time, she worked at the Center for Media and IT as well as in the interdisciplinary distance learning program in Environmental Sciences (infernum) at the Faculty of Cultural and Social Sciences.

From 2019 to 2025, she was employed at the Institute of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy IV: Philosophy of Medicine and Technology and the Department of Philosophy III: Practical Philosophy: Technology, History, Society. Concurrently, she pursued a part-time degree in Business Administration and Economics at the FernUniversität in Hagen, which she successfully completed in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree. She has been on parental leave since April 2025.
