Short biography

Christian Beecks is head of the chair of Data Science in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at the FernUniversität in Hagen. He is also head of the research group Intelligent Data Analysis in the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT. His research interests include machine learning, data mining, knowledge discovery and Big Data, specialising in efficient algorithms and machine learning methods for scalable data analysis in complex data spaces. He has authored more than 100 conference and journal papers and won several awards. He is a reviewer for several international conferences and journals.
