Trade and Peace: Economists Discuss Geopolitics in Budapest
[15.10.2026]Around 30 researchers gathered in Budapest at the end of September for the 6th Workshop of the Global Economic Policy Group, hosted by our chair and the University of Westminster. The discussions focused on global supply chains, energy security and geoeconomic fragmentation. In his keynote, Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Kohler (University of Tübingen) showed that trade can dampen conflict but can also limit countries’ room for maneuver.
