Contact with the universities and partners in education, culture, media, business and politics is an important component and is cultivated by the working group.
Fraunhofer UMSICHT
"Fraunhofer-Institut für Umwelt-, Sicherheits- und Energietechnik UMSICHT" stands for sustainable energy and raw materials management and researches sustainable products, efficient processes and technologies as well as services together with partners. Costs are estimated, solutions are pointed out and support is provided in an advisory capacity. The goal is to change from a linear to a circular economic system.
Fraunhofer Academy
"Fraunhofer Academy" is a further education institution for specialists and managers from companies with a technology-driven focus. It offers advanced training, seminars, certificate courses and in-service study programmes based on the research activities of the 74 Fraunhofer Institutes.
Working Group of Environmental and Process Technology
The Environmental and Process Technology working group cooperates in the areas of biorefineries and maritime gas hydrates with companies from the fields of process engineering, agricultural engineering, the chemical industry and also with companies from the energy sector. Based on laboratory tests and numerical simulations, processes are developed and supported until they are ready for production. Particularly complex and multiphase processes with coupled reaction-technical processes and heat and mass transport are recorded. The focus here is on fundamental application-oriented process engineering development. Demonstrators for new apparatus or plant concepts and sample batch production as well as market and cost considerations are the goals of the investigations.
