At the two-day BEWEGT Conference in Berlin from March 18 to 19, 2026, the BEWEGT accompanying research initiative brought together for the first time researchers from over 40 ongoing projects within the “Energy Transition & Society” funding priority. The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to get to know one another and exchange ideas within the funding priority. The “ZidiNaKo” research project was represented on-site by Sabrina Schreiner (Fraunhofer UMSICHT) and Hannah Charlotte Müller (FernUniversität Hagen) and was presented with a poster during the poster session.

Visibility and Impact of Research on „Energiewende und Gesellschaft“ (“Energy Transition and Society”)

The conference focused on the social, political, and economic aspects of the energy transition. In addition to the presentation of project results, various formats such as poster sessions, workshops, and panel discussions provided opportunities to exchange innovative approaches and experiences. The event was organized by the Fraunhofer ISI and IÖW institutes as part of the “BEWEGT – The Energy Transition Society” research initiative, with funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). Over 100 researchers from across Germany gathered to present the latest research findings and discuss key challenges of the energy transition.

The “ZidiNaKo” Research Project

The “ZidiNaKo” collaborative project aims to involve more private households in Oberhausen in the energy transition and to better engage citizens in their daily lives. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE) for a period of three years. The consortium consists of the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT, the Fernuniversität Hagen, and evo - Energieversorgung Oberhausen. The Düsseldorf Chamber of Crafts and the Consumer Advice Center NRW support the consortium. The goal is to research new, context-specific communication approaches for the energy transition in the building and housing sector and to open them up for discussion.
