Impressions of the “EnergieZukünfte” exhibition in Hagen
[25.09.2025]Inspiration, exchange, and energy stories in vacant premises
From August 22 to September 5, 2025, a vacant premise on Lange Straße in Hagen-Wehringhausen hosted the exhibition “EnergieZukünfte: Geschichten und Visionen für den Wandel” (“EnergyFutures: Stories and Visions for Change”). The exhibition was organized with the active support of Nachhaltigkeitszentrum Hagen e.V. (Sustainability Center Hagen) as part of the “Klimapositives Wehringhausen” (“Climate-Positive Wehringhausen”) project and took place within the framework of the BMWE-funded “ZidiNaKo” project.

The energy stories, design objects, and future scenarios on display make energy visible in a variety of forms. They show how differently energy can be approached: Rolf Brändle's house model vividly illustrates the “low-tech for rent” scenario with algae cultivation, a heating table, and more in a multi-family house, the design objects by Folkwang students make energy aesthetically and physically tangible, and the Oberhausen energy stories encourage visitors to reflect on their own experiences and opportunities in the energy transition at home.
Energy stories from Hagen
At the opening on August 22 and on the opening days, residents and interested parties had the opportunity to visit the exhibition and learn more about the various exhibits during a guided tour. For the duration of the exhibition, the vacant building became a lively meeting place for sharing personal energy stories and lively discussions. This also allowed energy stories from Hagen to be collected and documented. A new exhibition of individual exhibits and the Hagen energy stories is currently being prepared on the campus of the FernUniversität in Hagen.
