- Opportunities for networking and professional exchange, designed to strengthen the OpenEU alliance

Short Facts
We are delighted to invite our partner universities from OpenEU to take part in our Intercultural Week for staff members at FernUniversität in Hagen.
WHEN? 8 June (Monday) – 12 June (Thursday) 2026
WHERE? Campus of the FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany
WHO? Staff members from the OpenEU Alliance
FEE? Participant fee of 75€ per person (for all participants, this is not included in the funding)
FernUniversität in Hagen is able to cover travel and accommodation costs for ONE staff member of each OpenEU university
More than one person from each OpenEU university can take part, but travel and accommodation costs must be covered individually by the home institution for each additional participant.

How to apply and costs
With the help of the OpenECHO program, which is kindly funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), FernUniversität in Hagen is able to cover travel and accommodation costs for ONE staff member of each OpenEU university.
Please note: More than one person from each OpenEU university can apply, but travel and accommodation costs must be covered individually by the home institution for each additional participant.
A participant fee of €75 applies per person.

until May 8, 2026. Please note that spots are limited!

Expense claims for funded persons
- The FernUniversität in Hagen will cover up to €600 for travel to and from the event, as well as up to €100 per night (for a maximum of 5 nights) per person.
- Participants must pay upfront and will receive a refund after the Intercultural Week from us.
- Refunds are based on receipts submitted to us during the Intercultural Week.
- We will only reimburse actual expenses, but not more than the amounts specified above.
- Please note that only economy class tickets are eligible for reimbursement for air travel.
- Please use public transportation for travel to and from the airport; taxi fares are generally not eligible for reimbursement.
