Mental Labor Inventory at the WFRN in Montreal

At the 8th Biennial Conference of the Work and Family Researchers Network (WFRN) at Concordia University in Montréal (June 17–20, 2026, theme: “Centering Care Across the Life Course”), Jan-Bennet Voltmer presented the findings on “Toward the Measurement of Mental Labor” at the half-day preconference session “Understanding Cognitive Labor and the Mental Load” ( Jan-Bennet Voltmer, Natalia Reich-Stiebert, Olga Zolotina & Laura Froehlich, Department of Psychology). A newly developed, multidimensional instrument for the reliable measurement of mental labor was presented. The exchange with sociologists and psychologists from the field of work-and-family research led to valuable contacts for future collaborations
