FernUni at the DFG SUBSES Network in Osnabrück

The DFG-funded research network SUBSES investigates how the social environment influences the educational trajectories of students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. Laura Froehlich took part in the network's 6th meeting in Osnabrück. As an international expert, Prof. Dr. Eddie Brummelman (University of Amsterdam) presented his research on how socioeconomic background shapes the development of children's self-image and, ultimately, their (educational) success. The meeting offered valuable opportunities to advance joint projects and to reflect on personal experiences of social inequality.
