To strengthen our team in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, we are looking for a

Research Developer (Fullstack)

Part-time (19.92 hours per week 50%)
Fixed- term (until February 28, 2027)
in pay group E 10 TV-L
at the earliest possible date.

The Chair of Business Administration, in particular Information Management (B*IMA) focuses on the management of information as a central resource for value creation in the 21st century. Our mission is to advance research in this critical area and equip lifelong learners with the skills to thrive in a digital society.

To support this mission, we are currently looking for a Research Developer to join our collaborative team and contribute to bringing our research ideas to life through innovative solutions.

Your tasks

  • You will be involved in innovative research projects of the chair's research group and support the projects with your technical expertise.
  • You will develop mockups, prototypes, and demonstrators (e.g., web applications) in close coordination with the scientific staff of the chair and integrate generative AI in the coding process.
  • You will handle the Linux system administration of the virtual machines for research projects and student projects and set up necessary network configurations.
  • You will provide support in setting up survey studies (e.g., LimeSurvey) and help with online experiments and user studies.
  • You will support setting up appropriate learning data analytics tools of the chair and prepare regular reports for this purpose.
  • You will maintain the chair's website in the content management system (Imperia) of the FernUniversität.
  • You will administer the chair's collaboration platforms (SharePoint/Teams), identify opportunities for setting up new workflows, and ensure the implementation of the data security concept.
  • You will design and evaluate software and hardware concepts for the chair's research.

Your profile

  • You have a bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a similar field, or you have completed vocational training as an IT specialist specializing in application development.
  • You have very good knowledge of at least one programming language and the willingness to familiarize yourself deeply with web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS/PHP) and analytical tools (Python/R).
  • You are experienced with common operating systems (Windows/Linux) and network configuration.
  • You have versatile technical skills with strengths in both front-end topics (user interface design) and back-end topics (application logic and databases).
  • You approach problems in a structured way and demonstrate logical and analytical thinking.
  • You are committed to continuously developing your skills and have a fundamental interest in business informatics research.
  • You communicate confidently in English and are willing to learn and improve your German language skills.
  • You are a team player who enjoys working reliably and independently.
