As a key member of the OpenEU project, the FernUniversität has positioned itself as a leader in internationalization and innovative higher education. As the only German university and a core member of this European network, it contributes its unique expertise in digital education and lifelong learning.

Innovation, networking, and mobility

The OpenEU alliance brings together ten universities and other non-university institutions from across Europe with the aim of creating an inclusive, digital, and sustainable educational landscape. Drawing on its many years of experience, the FernUniversität contributes to the development of innovative teaching and learning formats, networking research, and preparing new mobility offers.

Spanning from Iceland to Cyprus and from Portugal to Latvia, the alliance opens up new opportunities for exchange and cooperation for students, researchers, and staff at the FernUni in Hagen and all the other member universities.
