Network for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability

Event at which several experts or representatives of interest groups discuss a specific topic in front of an audience Photo: FernUniversität

The Network for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability is an open platform for all those who are committed to climate protection, energy efficiency, and creating a sustainable future. It brings together regional stakeholders from science, administration, business, trade, the housing sector, and civil society to develop concrete strategies for the energy transition.

Building on a series of practice-oriented information events on building refurbishment and heating systems, the network has evolved into a platform for exchange, knowledge transfer, and collaboration. The Energy, Environment & Sustainability research center positions itself as a catalyst and central hub for dialogue between research and practical application.

Its central concern is to use the network to develop innovative and fundable ideas and initiate joint third-party funded projects. This interdisciplinary collaboration is intended to spark new research and implementation initiatives that promote a regionally grounded and socially responsible energy transition.

The focus will be on current topics such as municipal heat planning, legal frameworks for energy communities (energy sharing), social aspects of the energy transition, and social acceptance. We regularly discuss these challenges at public events – usually structured around panel discussions.

As part of this event, we would like to focus on discussing the practical experiences, challenges, and opportunities associated with municipal heat planning. The aim is to bring together perspectives from municipalities, government agencies, academia, the energy sector, the housing industry, and other relevant stakeholder groups.

Please register here for participation in person and here for online participation.
