In der Zeit von April 2022 bis Juli 2023 hatten Studierende die Möglichkeit, Feedback zu den am Lehrstuhl geschriebenen Abschlussarbeiten zu geben. 78 % der Studierenden würden den Lehrstuhl und dessen Betreuer uneingeschränkt (volle Punktzahl) für Abschlussarbeiten weiterempfehlen. 89 % der Studierenden fanden den Austausch mit ihren Betreuerinnen und Betreuern hilfreich und klären (trifft voll zu). Für die Betreuungsleistung insgesamt gaben 80 % der Studierenden die höchstmögliche Punktzahl.
Da neben der quantitativen Auswertung insbesondere die verbalen Einzelfeedbacks ein interessantes Schlaglicht auf die Abschlussarbeitsbetreuung werfen, möchten wir im Folgendem sowohl einige positive als auch kritische Anmerkungen, teilweise sprachlich geglättet, teilen. Im Sinne des Zweckes von Evaluationen bedanken wir uns herzlich für die positiven Anmerkungen und möchten zu den kritischen Anmerkungen, wenn möglich, erläuternde Hinweise geben.
Between April 2022 and July 2023, students had the opportunity to give feedback on the theses written at the chair. 78 % of the students would recommend the chair and its supervisors without reservation (full score) for final theses. 89% of the students found the exchange with their supervisors helpful and clear (fully agree). For the overall supervision performance, 80% of the students gave the highest possible score.
Since, in addition to the quantitative evaluation, the verbal individual feedbacks in particular shed an interesting light on the thesis supervision, we would like to share in the following some positive as well as critical remarks, partly smoothed out in terms of language. In line with the purpose of evaluations, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for the positive comments and, if possible, provide explanatory notes on the critical comments.

- Der Lehrstuhl und der Betreuer waren beide gut organisiert und strukturiert, sodass die Betreuung vollumfänglich gelungen war.
- Besonders gut ist die "Handreichung zur Erstellung von Seminar- und Abschlussarbeiten". Bei Umsetzung des Inhaltes dieses Dokuments steht aus meiner Sicht einer guten Leistung nichts im Wege.
- Mir hat besonders gut gefallen, dass der Lehrstuhl ermöglicht, auch außergewöhnliche Themen zu bearbeiten.
- Sehr gute Betreuung durch den Lehrstuhl; die Handreichung mit allen Formalien ist sehr klar.
- Zusätzlich klasse Videos zum wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten.
- Stets schnelle Terminvereinbarungen um Fragen zu klären oder die Gliederung der Abschlussarbeit zu besprechen.
- Beim Uploadprozess sollte ein separater Uploadbereich für die WORD-Datei der Abschlussarbeit eingeführt werden.
- Ggf. könnte der Bewertungszeitraum verkürzt werden, 7 Wochen erscheint subjektiv betrachtet relativ lange. Dennoch liegen keine Informationen vor, wie hoch das Aufkommen an zu bewertenden Abschlussarbeiten am Lehrstuhl ist.
- Die Abschlussarbeit kann nur in einem Zeitfenster im Prüfungsamt angemeldet werden, auch wenn der Beginn der eigentlichen Arbeit frei wählbar ist. So kann es passieren, dass ein Seminar nach Ablauf der Anmeldefrist stattfindet, was einen davon abhalten kann, den Lehrstuhl für das Seminar zu wählen.
- The chair and the supervisor were both well organized and structured, so that the supervision was fully successful.
- The handout for the preparation of seminar papers and theses is especially good. If the content of this document is implemented, nothing prevents a good performance from my point of view.
- I particularly liked the fact that the chair makes it possible to work on unusual topics.
- Very good support by the chair; the handout with all formalities is very clear.
- In addition, great videos on how to do scientific work.
- Always quick appointments to clarify questions or to discuss the structure of the thesis.
- In the upload process, a separate upload area for the WORD file of the thesis should be introduced.
- If necessary, the assessment period could be shortened, 7 weeks seems relatively long from a subjective point of view. Nevertheless, there is no information available on how high the volume of theses to be assessed is at the chair.
- The thesis can only be registered in a time window in the examination office, even if the start of the actual work is freely selectable. Thus, it can happen that a seminar takes place after the registration deadline, which can prevent one from choosing the chair for the seminar.
Erläuterungen / Statement
- Die Organisation des Upload-Prozesses der Abschlussarbeiten liegt nicht in den Händen des Lehrstuhls. Wir empfehlen, die Word-Datei als Anhang hochzuladen, so dass sie für die Betreuer zugänglich ist.
- Gemäß Prüfungsordnung sind zwei Monate für die Begutachtung einer Abschlussarbeit vorgesehen. Da gerade die Begutachtung einer Abschlussarbeit sehr sorgfältig erfolgen sollte, im Regelfall wird die Arbeit vom Betreuenden, von Prof. Dr. Littkemann und einer Zweitgutachterin/einem Zweitgutachter gelesen bzw. beurteilt, im Regelfall ein zweiter/eine zweite Professor/in, ist diese Frist angemessen bis herausfordernd, insbes. da die Begutachtung von Abschlussarbeiten nur einen Teil der Tätigkeiten an einem Lehrstuhl darstellt und der Lehrstuhl darüber hinaus im Vergleich zu anderen Lehrstühlen ein sehr großes Angebotskontingent an Abschlussarbeitsplätzen bereitstellt.
- Der Anmeldeprozess über das Prüfungsamt liegt ebenfalls nicht in den Händen des Lehrstuhls. Wir legen aber die Seminare bewußt so, dass diese grundsätzlich vor dem Anmeldeschluss für die Abschlussarbeiten abgeschlossen sind. Spätestens zum Zeitpunkt der Entscheidung über die Annahme von Kandidat*innen ist der Ausgang aller Seminare des Lehrstuhls bekannt, so dass einer Anmeldung für eine Abschlussarbeit nichts im Wege stehen sollte. Ggf. ist hier ein anderer Lehrstuhl gemeint.
- The organization of the thesis upload process is not in charge of the chair. We recommend uploading the Word file as an attachment so that it is accessible to the supervisors.
- According to the regulations of examination, two months are scheduled for the review of a final thesis. Since especially the review of a thesis should be done very thoroughly, usually the thesis is read or assessed by the supervisor, Prof. Dr. Littkemann and a second reviewer, usually another professor, this time limit is reasonable to challenging, especially since the review of theses is only a part of the activities at a chair and the chair also provides a very large contingent of thesis places compared to other chairs.
- The registration process via the examination office is also not in charge of the chair. However, we deliberately schedule the seminars in such a way that they are generally completed before the registration deadline for the final theses. At the latest at the time of the decision about the acceptance of candidates, the outcome of all seminars of the chair is known, so that nothing should be an obstacle to an application for a final thesis position. Maybe another chair is meant here.
