Klagenfurt Research Retreat (KRR) 2026 – Call for Applications now open

The ESREA Doctoral School on Adult Education and Transformation will take place again in 2026 with the participation of the Chair of Adult and Continuing Education at the FernUniversität in Hagen.

The Klagenfurt Research Retreat (KRR) invites doctoral students from the field of adult education and transformation research to participate in the ESREA Doctoral School from 14 to 18 September 2026. The retreat will be hosted by the University of Klagenfurt and organised in cooperation with the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA). Prof. Dr Eva Cendon is once again involved as a member of the international faculty.

Doctoral students and researchers from the field of adult education will meet at the University of Klagenfurt to address key topics such as social justice, digitalisation and sustainability in workshops, writing labs and discussions.
