New issue of the European Journal of University Lifelong Learning (EJULL) published
[23.12.2025]On 22 December 2025, the new issue of the EJULL journal (9(2) 2025) was published as open access, focusing on the transformative role of universities in lifelong learning (LLL).
The current issue of the European Journal of University Lifelong Learning explores how universities can actively contribute to the development of sustainable, equitable and networked ecosystems for lifelong learning (LLL) in Europe and beyond. The contributions are based on the presentations and discussions of the eucen conference ‘Enhancing University Lifelong Learning Culture in Europe’ (2025, Lille).
The articles highlight from different angles and from a macro-, meso- and micro-perspective the need a proactive role of universities in shaping learning societies and establishing lifelong learning as an integral part of their self-image. The contributions opics include transnational perspectives, the transformative role of universities, the vision of an ecosystemic approach and a reassessment of the tasks of higher education institutions.
