What is my role within CATALPA?

As project manager for the LEAD:FUH (Learning Empowerment through Analytics and Data) project, I lead an interdisciplinary team that is developing a university-wide teaching architecture for the implementation of learning analytics at FernUniversität. Together, we are working on strategic, cultural, structural, and technological aspects with the goal of enabling personalized feedback for students through data-driven analysis and visualization of learning processes, and allowing faculty and program administrators to make evidence-based improvements to their offerings. Previously, I was part of the IMPACT project, which drove the implementation of Trusted Learning Analytics and artificial intelligence in higher education. Together, we focused on integrating various open-source applications and developing AI-supported analytical methods.

My dissertation project under Prof. Dr. Haake and Prof. Dr. Claudia de Witt addresses the topic of learning analytics infrastructure at both the technical and strategic levels.

Why CATALPA?

CATALPA gives me the opportunity to further my education in an interesting field of research and to pursue my academic career. The interdisciplinary composition of the project teams creates a framework that enables the generation of synergies.
