Practical project with students successfully completed
[29.07.2025]Promoting young talent and knowledge transfer in one: Students present CATALPA research to students. As part of a practical project, six PR students developed social media content for the research center.

CATALPA Science Communication received active support last semester: a group of six international students contributed their creative talents for a semester. As part of their practical project, students of the Journalism and Public Relations (JPR) program at Westfälische Hochschule gained insights into the working world and contributed creative ideas and new perspectives.
“The students' task was to create social media posts based on a short concept. Above all, they were asked to explain how our research actually affects student learning. Since they are students themselves and therefore familiar with the topic, we were particularly interested to see which aspects they would pick out to convey to other students,” explains CATALPA science communicator Sandra Kirschbaum. She is herself a graduate of the JPR Institute and occasionally supervises theses and practical projects.
We will be showing how the students have turned CATALPA's research into “snackable content” on LinkedIn and Bluesky in the coming days.
Focus on "promoting early career researchers"
This article is the first in our new series “In Focus.” For late summer, CATALPA is focusing on promoting young talent and early-career researchers. Articles featuring and about our early-career researchers will then appear on various channels.
