Im Rahmen des Oberseminars des Lehrgebiets „Künstliche Intelligenz“ (Prof. Dr. Matthias Thimm) hält am Donnerstag, den 26.03.2026, um 10:00 Uhr, Frau Dr. Anna Rapberger (TU Dortmund)

einen Vortrag zum Thema:
"On Learning Assumption-Based Argumentation Frameworks"

Abstract:
Assumption-based argumentation (ABA) is a versatile structured argumentation formalism that unifies a range of approaches to non-monotonic reasoning, including logic programming and Dung’s abstract argumentation frameworks. In this talk, we investigate the problem of learning ABA frameworks from examples. Thereby, we assume given background knowledge in the form of an ABA framework together with new information in the form of partial extensions or labellings. Our focus is on the theoretical properties and limits of this setting: we identify conditions under which solutions exist, investigate the verification and optimality of such solutions, and analyse the computational complexity of the resulting decision problems.
