Representatives from several partner institutions of the European higher education alliance OpenEU Alliance came together to exchange strategies, experiences, and perspectives on microcredentials.
Microcredentials are considered an important tool for promoting lifelong learning. They enable learners to acquire specific skills, continue their education, or reorient themselves professionally—without being tied to a complete degree program. Accordingly, topics such as the development, quality assurance, and recognition of microcredentials were the focus of Staff Week.
Boot camps and tours
In addition to keynote speeches and discussion panels, the program offered practical formats such as boot camps on the topic and insights into key facilities at FernUniversität, including the video studio and the Immersive Collaboration Hub. In an open session, experts discussed current developments and challenges in the European context.
Overall, Staff Week provided a platform for sharing practical experiences in order to identify common standards and, above all, to strengthen cooperation within the OpenEU alliance.
During visits to the Kunstquartier and Werdringen moated castle, guests from Europe got to know the cultural side of the city of Hagen.
