[22.01.2026]We are delighted to announce that the EDELNet Partnership (www.edelnet.eu) is inviting applications to the 2026 EDELNet Summer School that will take place in The Hague (The Netherlands) from 15 to 19 June. The Hague is an outstanding city for law studies because it is home to key international legal institutions such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. A study trip to The Hague is especially valuable because it combines high-level academic insight with cultural exchange and direct exposure to global justice in action.

As in previous years, more than 60 students from the FernUniversität Hagen (Germany), the Open Universiteit (Netherlands), UNED (Spain), Open University (UK) and University of Wroclaw (Poland) will have the opportunity to work together in a series of activating seminars and simulations designed to offer a high-quality learning experience and gain insight into legislative processes, rule of law operations and other vital aspects of legal systems in liberal democracies. In addition, participants will get a valuable chance to have a meaningful exchange with students and instructors from other European jurisdictions in an institutionally supportive and intellectually challenging environment.
The Summer School for LL.B. and EJP students will be dealing with Constitutional Law. The programme starts with an online phase in March 2026. During this phase participants are expected to take a few short online courses. These courses cover not only legal matters, but also soft skills such as academic debate, legal English, intercultural communication and team work.
In the face-to-face part of the Constitutional Law programme you will work on a thought-provoking assignment on constitutional law and politics in comparative perspective, together with an international group of students from the participating universities. Different viewpoints on political systems and constitutions from various countries will be discussed.
Successful applicants are expected to have a good command of English. A basic knowledge of constitutional Law is recommended.
Participants are expected to make their own accommodation and travel arrangements. Accommodation and travel expenses may be partly covered through Erasmus+ Short-Term Mobility funding or other funding opportunities, we are working on this opportunity right now!
The successful participation in the Constitutional Law Summer school will be awarded with 5 ECTS on mere Participation and with 10 ECTS if you chose to file a written homework after the programme. The course is valid in respect of § 7 Abs. 1 no. 3 JAG NRW (Fremdsprachennachweis)
